Training Sessions
There are two different required training sessions that all PAs and volunteers must attend for Mountaindale West Day Camp and one additional training for first time volunteers at Mountaindale West. These are in addition to trainings that are required by Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington (GSOSW).
New Volunteer Trainings (first time Mountaindale West volunteers only)
May 6th, 2024 @ 7pm via Zoom.
Indoor Training (adults and PAs)
TBD 6-9:30.
Indoor Training is required for all volunteers and Program Aides (PAs).
This is a VERY important event where almost all of the preliminary planning is done for the week at camp. What will happen this night:

Get your unit assignment and meet your unit leadership team - adult volunteers and PAs
Plan and create a calendar for the week of camp
Learn what badges your unit will be doing and choose activities for Brownie / Junior units
Decide who will complete certain assignments prior to the week of camp (welcome postcard, pick up supplies, create name tags, etc.)
Plan a date to meet again before camp to "check in" with each other and make sure you are ready for the camp week
Make equipment requests for the camp week for your unit
Make any special unit requests (items that we may not carry in our camp supplies, but might need to be borrowed or purchased or special cooking needs)
You will get demonstrations and information about the status of:
Cooking
Supplies
Arts & Crafts
Ice Cream
