The sibling units are designed to give our full-time parent volunteers a place to send their smaller campers and pre-teen boys during the day to have fun while they (the adult) volunteer with units at camp.
Sibling units are age appropriate. The siblings are given the same privileges as the Girl Scouts units at the camp. They get to participate in cooking, ice cream making, arts and crafts, songs and games (if they want to do them), hiking and much more. The boy units usually plan more activities that are geared to their ages and abilities. WidgetsThe Widgets are three - and four-year old boys and girls. They typically have a higher ratio of PA's and leaders. The Widget unit is assigned a unit site just like our camper units but usually lower on the hill and close to BIFFY's (Bathroom In the Forest For You) and the meadow. The Widgets get a chance to interact with the Junior Girl Scouts in the Caring for Children unit. All Widgets must be potty trained. EaglesThe Eagles are boys entering kindergarten and first grade in the fall. The Eagles have access to some hiking trails, arts and crafts, songs and games just like the younger Brownie units.FalconsThe Falcons are boys entering second and third grade in the fall. These boys have many of the same priviledges as Brownie units and share many of the camp facilities, having fun away from the girls and with PAs and leaders that love working with them.HawksThe Hawks are boys entering the fourth through sixth grade in the fall. The Hawks have the same priviledges as the junior units at the camp and are even allowed to attend the overnight. While the girl campers sleep in the meadow under the stars, the boys sleep up at Rafters, an area away from the girls. |
